Every year, over 200 Barnard students study abroad in more than 35 countries. During their time away, students see the world through different perspectives, often capturing their travels through camera lenses.
Barnard's annual photo competition celebrates the best images from students' international explorations, as well as the local experiences of students studying in New York with Barnard's Visiting International Student Program. The contest, known as SNAP (See New Abroad Photos), awards prizes in five categories related to the study abroad experience: Intellectual Exploration, Selfie, Cultural Comparison, Global Issues, and Women’s Empowerment.
