The Department of Biology at Barnard College, Columbia University, seeks a full-time Term Assistant Professor (starting July 2017) to teach undergraduate courses and to mentor undergraduate students conducting research as part of their academic programs. We are interested in candidates who are broadly trained with expertise in microbial life and in the use of genetic, genomic, or molecular biology approaches. Teaching responsibilities include specialized seminar, lecture and laboratory courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Ph.D. and prior experience in teaching full-semester undergraduate lecture or lab courses. Postdoctoral experience desirable.
