Moderator: Krista McGuire, Assistant Professor of Biology, Barnard College
In light of Barnard's recently established transgender admissions and pronoun policies, we have asked panelists to reflect on such questions as:
- What can faculty do to ensure their classrooms continue to be open and accepting to the full spectrum of gender expression?
- What are the broader ways in which faculty can create and sustain "safe and non-discriminatory" spaces for our students?
- What do they think the "ideal classroom" of the future should look like?
Our goal is a broader conversation among faculty about how to improve our instructional practices in ways that help our students do their best learning.
Refreshments will be served.
