The following email was sent to Barnard students on Oct. 28, 2018:

Dear Barnard Students,

In light of the tragic events at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we are reaching out to you to provide support and resources.

Our hearts go out to the Jewish community of Pittsburgh, to law enforcement members who put their lives on the line every day, and to all those who have been touched by senseless violence.

The University Chaplain's Office and the Kraft Center will be holding a vigil and memorial service tonight, Sunday, October 28th, at 8:00 p.m.

On Monday evening, October 29th, Furman Counseling will be hosting Listening Hours in Plimpton hall from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for students who need a space to process.

In the face of grief and loss of life, please seek one another out, come together as a community, and take care of each other.

Sincerely,

Natalie Friedman
