Celebrated author, activist, and recent Barnard Medal of Distinction recipient Cherríe Moraga will read and discuss her new memoir, Native Country of the Heart, a love letter to her mother and an intimate portrait of the U.S.-Mexican diaspora. Barnard professor Nancy Worman will join Moraga to discuss America’s long bout of cultural amnesia and how the recuperation of ancestral memories can help nourish the radical political consciousness and activism needed to fight for a better future.
