In developing these initiatives, our faculty is committed to furthering the intellectual development of Barnard students, providing venues for the public discussion of pressing topics, and bringing outstanding scholars to campus.
Barnard International Artists Series
The Barnard International Artists Series involves students in the world of contemporary artists and thinkers and their work. Every year writers, filmmakers, dancers, dramatists, visual artists, architects and composers from all over the world are invited to show and speak about their work. The series was founded by its principal curator, the pulitzer-prize winning author, Hisham Matar.
Forum on Migration
The Forum on Migration brings distinguished scholars in literature and the arts to campus for special lectures.
Various endowments support a rich array of visiting scholars at Barnard, including
