Women’s Voices: A Celebration of Songs by Female Composers--POSTPONED

DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED
Sulzberger Parlor, 3rd Floor Barnard Hall

Soprano Lauren Ishida ’08 is delighted to return to perform at her beloved alma mater. Ishida ’08 is the vocalist half of Duo Moderne, an ensemble specializing in the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. She is a frequent collaborator with the early music group, Ensemble Leonarda. In collaboration with her husband and duo partner, Noby Ishida, she is currently working on a biography of the Spanish-American composer, Julio de Osma. This program features an exciting array of works by women composers and poets from the Middle Ages to the present, and challenges us to think about the many ways in which women use their voices to tell stories about their own lives and experiences.
