Provides services and resources to ensure the safety and well-being of Barnard’s students, faculty, staff, and guests
The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and guests are of the utmost importance to Barnard. Offices and departments across campus are dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment conducive to learning. The Department of Public Safety, in conjunction with the Departments of Residential Life and Health Services, conducts training sessions, workshops and other programs on personal safety, protection of property, crime prevention, sexual assault, and drug and alcohol abuse.
Focuses on broad issues related to campus safety, including concerns about racial and other forms of bias and their consequences, accessibility, and advising on improving structures on campus for relationship building, training, and community oversight
Provides a holistic approach to sexual violence prevention through campaigns, educational programming, one-on-one counseling, community building, advocacy, and intervention
Focuses on developing and supporting programs and services to ensure that the College is diverse, inclusive, and equitable for all students
Provides information concerning Barnard’s residence halls and what to do in a fire emergency
Provides statistics, policies, and practices on crime and fire safety
