Heidi Martin Winston
Research and Instructional Services Librarian
I have been a librarian at Barnard since 2003, where I am the Personal Librarian to the art history, architecture, medieval and Renaissance studies, and urban studies departments; as well as to first-year students in the Constellation Pictor. I maintain the inventory of the college's collection of art and artifacts, and arrange and curate exhibits for the library, both physical and online. Please contact me if you have any suggestions for exhibitions; see a sample of past installations of students' works, below.
Art librarianship has been the focus of my career: I worked 5 years in NYPL's Art and Architecture Division, and was an Editor at Art Index. I have written book reviews for Library Journal and Counterpoise, and have published biographies on several artists for Contemporary Biography. I am currently pursuing a Post-Masters Certificate in Digital Librarianship at Drexel University.
