Barnard students who register for Columbia Room Selection must also register for Barnard Room Selection (to sign a Barnard Housing Contract for billing purposes).
- Students may live in eligible Greek & Special Interest Communities
- Rising-Seniors only may register to be in groups for the CU Lottery
- Barnard students may not be RA or ODS "riders" (pull-ins) at Columbia, regardless of class year
There is a CAP on the number of Barnard students who may be pulled into suites at Columbia. The number is equal to the number of CC & SEAS students who are pulled-in to suites during the Barnard Housing Lottery (and any CU students pulled into Barnard RA suites) minus the number of Barnard students pulled into CU Special Interest Housing & CU Greek housing for next year. This number varies from year to year and is dependent on the number of students who register for Room Selection.
Barnard students who take part in the CU Lottery will also take part in the Barnard 123 Lottery to pick a back-up room (in case they are not able to select at Columbia). These students may not take part in the SR123, 4, 5, or 6 Lottery and may only select in the 123 Lottery as an individual (not as part of a group).
Barnard students who select into rooms at Columbia will be required to sign a Barnard Housing Contract (as Barnard will be responsible for billing you for your room). Barnard students living in Columbia housing are charged the Barnard room rate, not the Columbia room rate.
Barnard students who live at Columbia through the BC/CU Housing Exchange remain eligible for Barnard Room Selection in the future, as long as they do not cancel their campus housing or take a leave of absence.

Columbia student can pick into Barnard housing through the methods below:
- Be part of a group for the Barnard Housing Lottery
- Be a pull-in for a Barnard RA
- Be a pull-in for a Barnard student receiving a disability housing accommodation
Columbia students may not live in Hewitt, Sulz Tower, or Elliott Hall (i.e. corridor-style residence halls). Columbia students who identify as male may only be pull-ins for RAs or students with disability accommodations who are filling an entire suite (i.e. no partial suites).
Columbia students may only take part in the 4, 5, and 6 Lottery (but not the SR or 123 Lottery). Groups with Columba students must be 50% of more Barnard students. Co-ed groups that pick into Barnard Housing will be required to sign the Open Housing Agreement Form.
Columbia students living in Barnard housing are charged room rates set by Columbia, not the Barnard room rate.
