Funding Opportunities

There are many ways obtain additional funding beyond your initial allocation. Please contact Nicole Ruiz, GBB Finance Chair, at gbbfinance@gmail.com with any questions.

GBB Co-Sponsorship 

For recurring or new events/programs, apply to the GBB Co-Sponsorship Fund! In order to apply, your group must be a club in good standing with GBB. The group must submit this form and the sponsorship will be voted upon by the GBB board for approval.

 

Other Funding Opportunities: 

Joint Council Co-Sponsorships Committee (JCCC)

If you are seeking funding for a new event, an emergency, or travel you may apply to JCCC. Fill out this application. 

The JCCC is comprised of the four undergraduate student council Vice Presidents of Finance and their respective committees. The JCCC convenes on a weekly basis every Sunday from 4-6pm. Applications submitted Friday evening by 11:59pm will be considered that same Sunday. A representative from the group is expected to present the application for roughly 10 minutes and will be followed by questions from the JCCC for another 5 minutes. The guidelines and policies for funding are published below:

 

Capital Investment Fund

If you are seeking funding for large-scale overhauls of equipment and/or supplies, you may apply for CIF. CIF is open once per semester. The application for CIF Spring 2016 can be downloaded HERE.

The CIF applications are reviewed by the four undergraduate student council Vice Presidents of Finance and their respective committees. The application is due February 23rd at 11:59pm.

 

President's and Provost Student Initiative Fund

If you are seeking financial support for events which benefit the University community through collaboration and creative programming on campus, apply to P&P. The application is open to Columbia recognized groups only. You can find the application here: http://uem.columbia.edu/student/pp-fund. Applications for the spring semester close Friday, February 19th at 5pm. The P&P fund is semesterly and applications are reviewed by the four undergraduate student council Vice Presidents of Finance and their respective committees.

 

Community Activity Co-Sponsorship 

Student Life's new online Community Activity Co-Sponsorship Application can be found on the right hand corner of their website. Each semester Barnard Student Life sets aside a portion of financial resources to assist student organizations who wish to sponsor events and programs that fall outside of their budget allocation. To receive consideration, the application must meet the following requirements:

  • Student club/organization must be recognized and in good standing its governing board in order to apply.
  • Program, event, or activity should be open to Barnard students and focus on community building.
  • Program, event, or activity must take place on Barnard's campus.
  • Strong preference will be given to applications which highlight collaborative efforts and/or new initiatives.
  • Co-sponsorship application must be received at least two weeks in advance of the event.
