Rebecca Sime Nagasawa, Director of the Center for Accessibility Resources & Disability Services

Rebecca Sime Nagasawa became the Director of the Center for Accessibility Resources & Disability Services (CARDS) in August of 2021, after serving as the Associate Director from August of 2019 - 2021. She previously served as a Learning Specialist at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She holds a Master’s of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis on Special Education from Arizona State University. She is the CARDS coordinator for the class of 2025 and enjoys establishing relationships with and providing support for students. She is also available to consult with faculty, staff, and the community at large. She spends her free time rolling through beautiful Riverside Park and playing board games early on Sunday mornings with her family at Hex & Co.!

Caitlin joined CARDS in May 2022 and has been working in disability services in higher education since 2016. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. She is the CARDS coordinator for the class of 2026 and is excited to support and encourage students through all stages of their college journeys. In her free time she enjoys exploring the Upper West Side with her husband, spending time with her cat, Stevie, and cheering on her hometown hockey team, the Carolina Hurricanes.
Sophie Fain, Accommodations Coordinator

Sophie is excited to return to Barnard (Class of 2018) and join CARDS as the Class of 2027 Coordinator. She has spent the last six years working as a special education teacher in NYC. She holds a Masters in Special Education and a Masters of Educational Leadership & Administration Supervision. She is excited to support second year students as they continue their college journeys. In her free time she enjoys working on her art, hiking with her husband, and watching bad reality tv.
Nikki Roderman, Accommodations Coordinator

Nikki Roderman joined Barnard's Center for Accessibility Resources & Disability Services as an Accommodations Coordinator in 2021. Nikki earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology, Elementary, and Special Education from Marist College and an M.A. in Special Education with an emphasis on High Incidence Intervention from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. She has previously served as a teacher for students with disabilities in New Jersey and Nashville. Nikki is the CARDS coordinator for the class of 2028. She looks forward to academic coaching and establishing relationships with students and faculty. In her free time, she enjoys experimenting with new recipes, reading, and exploring areas outside the city
Angelene Prendergast-Santiago, Senior Programs Assistant

Angelene Prendergast-Santiago joined the staff of the Center for Accessibility Resources & Disability Services at the beginning of the Fall 2014 semester as the Assistant to the Director. Angelene is a critical part of the CARDS staff. Angelene manages the office operations and student worker staff, assists the director with budgetary, finance, and department needs, and is the first point of contact for students who have questions about how to set up services through CARDS. Angelene is committed to excellence and intentional about students leaving better than they came in, optimizing their collegiate experience. She thrives on spreading good vibes with her fellow CARDS Team! In her spare time, she loves to watch foreign films, travel to new places, serve others in her walk with God, spend quality time with friends & family and she really enjoys cooking with her handsome husband.
Jubilee Contreras, Administrative Assistant for Operations

Jubilee Contreras joined the Center for Accessibility Resources and Disability Services in the summer of 2023. Jubilee earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and writing & communications from Siena College. She loves psychology and getting a deeper understanding of the mind, personalities, and connecting with others. Jubilee is excited to be in the CARDS office and be a part of the support system students need to have a comfortable, enjoyable, and successful college experience. She was also born and raised in the Bronx and treasures the diversity and experiences New York City has to offer. In her free time, she loves to explore NYC, go thrifting, and relive her childhood through her love for Disney movies and memorabilia!
Our CARDS staff also includes Graduate Assistants, Student Workers and Test Proctors to help serve students registered with the Center.
