Student Life

Barnard students build their own version of college life from joining one of 80-plus student clubs, training with a Division I team, or settling into the everyday routines that make a campus feel like home. There's real support behind all of it: Feel Well, Do Well programming and the Francine LeFrak Center take care of your well-being, CARES looks out for your safety, and Beyond Barnard is there from your first year through your career. It's a community shaped as much by students as by the college itself.

Where You'll Live

You'll live in one of Barnard's residence halls, just steps from Riverside Park and a few blocks from Columbia. Morningside Heights has the feel of a real neighborhood, coffee shops, green space, and a community, so you get the best of city living without losing that small-campus feel.

Small-School Support, Big-School Athletics

Because of the College’s partnership with Columbia University, Barnard is the only women’s college where you can compete in NCAA Division I athletics.
