On November 21, 2024, Lesley A. Sharp, Barbara Chamberlain & Helen Chamberlain Josefsberg ’30 Professor of Anthropology received the Carole H. Browner Undergraduate Student Mentor Award from the Society for Medical Anthropology of the American Anthropological Association.
This prestigious award, established in 2006, celebrates scholars in medical anthropology who have shown outstanding dedication to mentoring undergraduate students. The nomination process is based solely on letters from current and former students that showcase how the candidate has been a strong mentor, advisor, and/or teacher. The award recognizes those who, throughout their careers, have actively supported students' growth by guiding them through research projects, helping them develop strong writing skills, and preparing them for professional paths beyond graduation.
