On February 27, 2023, it was announced that Lindsay Harkema, adjunct professor of architecture, will be honored along with her colleagues at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York 2023 Honors and Awards Luncheon. Harkema is one of seven co-founding members of a shared practice of design professionals called WIP Collaborative, praised by AIA NY for “defining new narratives of architectural and design practice through their work.” Founded on feminist principles in early 2020, WIP Collaborative will receive the New Perspectives Award, one of four major annual awards presented by AIA NY. The WIP team of honorees includes Harkema and other founding members: Abby Coover, Bryony Roberts, Elsa Ponce, Ryan Brooke Thomas, Sera Ghadaki, and Sonya Gimon. This achievement will be recognized on April 20th, at the Honors and Award Luncheon, which celebrates design excellence throughout New York City.
