Options Counseling for Pregnancy

PCHS provides all options counseling.  In regard to abortion care, in a counseling session, a PCHS provider can give a list of private abortion providers and make referrals to them. Abortion options counseling is free and confidential for all Barnard students. 

There are two kinds of abortions available: surgical and medical. During your counseling session, your PCHS provider can offer detailed information for both. Your PCHS provider will also discuss insurance and payment options with you around both procedures. Primary Care offers free and confidential pregnancy testing. We do a rapid urine test that gives results within minutes.  We do not charge for this test.

Coming in for a pregnancy test can be a time of conflicting emotions.. We are here for you.

Students receiving a positive pregnancy test will be supported by a provider in understanding their full range of options and accessing the services that they choose.

We are also always available to discuss contraceptive options with students who would like to explore the options available.

Furman Counseling Services  (1-212-854-2092) also offers individual counseling to help guide you through your decision or assist you in dealing with any feelings or issues that may arise as a result of your decision. Remember, whatever choice you make should be yours and no one else's.
