Economics

My research interests are focused on topics within development economics. In particular, one strand of my research explores how natural resource booms affect local welfare, with a specific focus on labor markets, criminal behavior, health, and gender. Another strand of my research focuses on economics of gender and the household, exploring transmission of information within the household, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and access to sanitation for adolescent girls. I use empirical methods including natural experiments, lab experiments in the field, and randomized control trials.
