Antoinette Gray

Antoinette Gray is the Associate Director of Programs at Beyond Barnard, where she joined the team in June 2026. Originally from Elwood, New York, Antoinette holds a Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from Manhattan College and a Bachelor of Arts from Hofstra University.

As a first-generation college graduate and dedicated mental health advocate, Antoinette developed a deep passion for connecting students with the resources, support systems, and programming they need to thrive throughout their college experience and beyond. Her commitment to student well-being, access, and success has guided her professional journey in higher education and student affairs.

Prior to joining the Barnard community, Antoinette served as the Manager of Alumni & Community at Hack.Diversity. She also worked across several City University of New York (CUNY) institutions, supporting student engagement, retention, and educational/workforce programming initiatives.

If you could speak to your college self, what advice would you give them?

You may be a first-generation college student, but you belong here. Be bold, be fearless, and be strategic. You are already sitting in your network, so continue building meaningful relationships. These years will be some of the most transformative of your life, helping to shape who you become both personally and professionally.

What’s important to you in life outside of work?

I’m a self-proclaimed wanderer and lifelong music lover who once dreamed of becoming a music journalist. You’ll rarely find me without a pair of headphones. I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, and visiting Smorgasburg as a dedicated foodie. In my free time, I’m usually listening to podcasts, watching documentaries, or trying to solve true crime mysteries. I love discovering new experiences, cultures, and stories, whether through travel, music, food, or meaningful conversations.
