Carter is a sophomore student at Barnard College who enjoys finding the intersections between science and the arts. She has always had an interest in working in her community and volunteers with the Barnard Food Pantry and in Lifeforce in Later Years, a program in Morningside Heights which connects residents of the neighborhood to its elders. With lots of interest in ecology, Carter is a backyard gardener and has experience with beekeeping. Her peer educator style includes cooperative learning, hands on activities and helping students make connections to real-life application of the material. Carter enjoys connecting with young Harlem natives through STEAM education.
