Julia Thompson is an award-winning film and podcast producer, writer and director with 15 years of experience in the film industry. Their most recent documentary, Little Boy Loon, premiered at the Camden International Film Festival in September, 2023.  Julia produced Dustin Guy Defa's film The Adults (2023), which had its nationwide theatrical release in August, 2023. They produced and co-directed the feature length documentary This Land, Our Voices (2020) which premiered at the Maryland Film Festival and was shot in 16 mm color film. Their short film, made in collaboration with Eimi Imanishi, One Up (2017), won the Best Short Film award at the Indie Memphis Film Festival and was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick. In 2017 Julia was a Sundance Producers Lab Fellow, and participant in the Rotterdam Film Lab. They graduated from Columbia University's MFA Film Program with a concentration in Creative Producing, where they are an adjunct professor. They also practice ceramics and teach children pottery at their community studio in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn.
