Summer Session Affordability
Summer Session Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available for current Barnard students who received institutional grant aid during the 2025-2026 academic year. Financial assistance is indexed to the student's academic year Student Aid Index (SAI) and financial assistance is applied in the form of an automatic tuition credit applied to Summer Session course bills. | $0-20,000 (inclusive of negative SAI) | 50% tuition credit |
| $20,001- 50,000 | 25% tuition credit |
| $50,000 and above | 10% tuition credit |
Please note that this financial assistance applies exclusively to tuition costs and is not available for expenses associated with summer housing or meal plans. If you have questions regarding your family contribution or current aid status, please refer to your most recent financial aid award letter or contact the financial aid office at finaid@barnard.edu.
Subsidized Housing & Summer Session
Beginning in 2026, Barnard students who enroll in Summer Session classes are eligible for subsidized summer housing rates for the terms in which they are enrolled in Summer Session classes. This allows students to live affordably in New York City while completing intensive classes and taking part in Barnard's living and learning community.
Students must sign up for housing by the priority deadline of April 20 (cancellation without penalty is allowed through April 24). Questions can be sent to housing@barnard.edu.
