
A trailblazer of experimental verse, Alice Notley ’67 was recognized as one of the most influential poets of her generation
Barnard Archives has acquired the personal and professional papers of National Book Award winner Sigrid Nunez ’72. Nunez is the author of nine novels, including The Friend, the Barnard-inspired The Last of Her Kind, and her latest, The Vulnerables, as well as the autobiographical work Sempre Susan: A Memoir of Susan Sontag. In the past year, two of Nunez’s books were on the big screen: The Room Next Door — based on the novel What Are You Going Through — written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, and The Friend, which was written and directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel.
