On February 11, 2025, Ignacio G. Galán, assistant professor of architecture, was honored with the American Institute of Architects New York’s (AIANY) New Practices New York award for his architecture practice.
New Practices New York is a juried portfolio competition showcasing new and innovative architecture and design firms in New York City. The 2025 competition, themed Voice, recognizes portfolios with innovative design work and thinking that draw upon the idea of voice both as an expression of identity and as an instrument for communication. Galán’s firm, IGG, is one of six firms recognized this year as a new practice offering a distinctive voice in engaging the critical issues that are relevant today.
From May 8, 2025, to September 2, 2025, IGG will be featured in a showcase among other winners of the New Practices New York 2025.
