The mission of the Barnard College Human Resources Department is to support the advancement of Barnard’s goals, values and vision through staff recruitment and retention, training, benefits, compensation, and employee and labor relations.
The Office of Nondiscrimination and Title IX is currently operating remotely and is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed on holidays).
The Office of Nondiscrimination and Title IX focuses on developing and supporting programs and services to ensure that the College is diverse, inclusive and equitable. Individuals who may have experienced or observed discrimination or harassment may consult with the Director of Nondiscrimination and Title IX to discuss their concern or initiate a report.

The Barnard College Ombuds Office is available as a campus-wide resource to assist students, faculty and staff. The Ombuds Office provides a confidential and informal environment in which possible options for dealing with variety of Barnard-related issues and concerns can be explored. As a confidential and impartial third party, the Ombuds Office is a uniquely positioned, independent resource within the College.

CVTC provides respectful treatment of survivors of family and intimate partner violence, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and other forms of violence and crime.

Both St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospital Emergency Departments provide highly acclaimed treatment services for victims of sexual assault and have SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) examiners available 24 hours a day. SAFE examiners devote their full attention to the victim’s needs, and only with the victim’s consent, collect evidence that can be used to prosecute the crime.

Annually, Sanctuary for Families serves over 10,000 individuals who experience some form of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and related forms of gender violence. Its services include: counseling, legal assistance, crisis and temporary shelter, community education, and advocacy, among others.

Through its 57 programs, Safe Horizon provides assistance to those who have experienced domestic and intimate partner violence, child physical and sexual abuse, human trafficking, stalking, youth homelessness, and other violent crimes. Its services include: counseling, legal representation, and housing and employment assistance, among others.
