On Campus

Room With a View

Follow Amelia Arnold ’17 on a tour of her shared suite with panoramic New York City views, an amazing kitchen, and an enormous bathroom. (Don’t be fooled: This is not your typical New York apartment.)

Life on Campus

The Barnard campus is home to a close-knit community of independently minded, adventurous students. As part of the community, you’ll be empowered to help steer campus life. You’ll find a culture and resources that encourage self-care and care for one another. And a constant stream of lectures, workshops, concerts, recitals, plays, films, and other events will keep you busy.

Residential Life

Living on Campus

Can I pick my roommate? What are the dorms like? Is there a curfew? (No curfew.) So many questions....

Out to Lunch

“Diana is my favorite place to go for one very simple reason: smoothies. Yes, they have sushi and pizza and french fries. But their smoothies.... And you can use swipes for them!”

— Cassandra Clifford ’21

Health & Wellness

Barnard’s mind-body approach provides resources and support for you to thrive — from counseling and clinical care to peer-led workshops on topics like safe sex, healthy relationships, and relaxation.

Green In More Ways Than One

Barnard is leafy-green — and committed to being a higher education leader in climate action. Initiatives range from a swap shop for clothing to a push for divestment from climate change-denying companies.

Giving Voice and Making Space

Efforts to diversify go way back at Barnard, driven in part by the student community. The College has increased its representation of people of color and LGBTQIA, both among students and faculty. While there’s always progress to be made, the community is making strides that go beyond numbers: Diversity and inclusion are woven through coursework and are an essential part of everything that we do.
