Hewitt Hall was built in 1925 and named for Abram Hewitt, Barnard’s second board chairman (1897-1902)
The Hewitt Dining Hall is located on the lower level and is accessible from the tunnel level of Barnard Hall. Dining Services is located on the mezzanine level (accessible via stairs from the first floor).

|Accessibility||Sulzberger and Brooks entrances are wheelchair accessible and elevators stop at floors 1-7. The 8th floor of Hewitt is reached by steps from the Brooks or Sulzberger 8th floor and is not wheelchair accessible|
|AC||Hewitt does not have air-conditioning. Please note that neither window nor portable ACs are permitted. Info about heating & cooling|
Students who wish to rent a small refrigerator for their room may do so from Collegiate Storage & Rental.
Note: Smoking is not permitted in any Barnard residence hall.
