Minor Permission Form (PDF)
Students may not bring children under the age of 13 into the residence halls without having their parent (of legal age) or legal guardian being present with the minor at all times. Any person between the ages of 13-16 years may visit a Barnard/Columbia student in the Barnard residence halls as long as written permission (using the form linked above) has been granted from the minor's parent or legal guardian.
Note: Minors are not allowed as guests during the following time periods: Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break.
The parent or legal guardian may complete the Minor Permission Form (PDF) and mail, scan/email as a PDF or JPG to housing@barnard.edu, or fax it (212-854-1561) to the Residential Life & Housing office. All signed forms must be submitted to the office no later than noon of the business day prior to the date of visitation.
When persons in this age group visit a residence hall, they must be accompanied by their student host at all times while they are in the buildings or on campus.
