The Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE NNSA SSGF) program provides financial benefits and professional development opportunities to students pursuing a PhD in fields of study that solve complex science and engineering problems critical to stewardship science. Fellowship includes a twelve-week practicum (research experience) at one of the DOE national defense laboratories - Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory or Sandia National Laboratories (California or New Mexico). Those eligible to apply for the program include senior undergraduate students and first and second year graduate students focusing their studies on high energy density physics, nuclear science, or properties of materials under extreme conditions and hydrodynamics.
