Members of the community may report crimes or emergencies at any time, day or night. Community members may also visit the Community Safety desk, staffed 24/7, in the lobby of Barnard Hall.
The College urges all members of the community to report crimes, Community Safety can assist with reporting to the appropriate municipal jurisdiction. Members of the CARES team can assist with intake and response related to suspicious occurrences on campus.

Other issues
Cybersecurity: BCIT's primer on how to spot and avoid phishing and other scams (requires login). If you think you may be a victim of a scam or bad link, notify the Service Desk immediately at help@barnard.edu or call 212-854-7172.
Facilities: For plumbing, electrical, removal of items, and related building concerns, please submit a request to Facilities Services.
Discrimination or harassment: During business hours, contact the Nondiscrimination and Title IX office at 212-853-0772. Submit an information report.
Barnard ID card replacement: Barnard issued identification cards provide access to campus and buildings that utilize card readers. If your ID card is lost or stolen, you can get more information regarding replacement by completing this form. Barnard ID cards are issued through the Columbia ID Center, find additional information about replacement of damaged IDs on the ID Center webpage.
Lost and Found
Community Safety will take valuables found on campus in for safekeeping and, when possible, will try to return items to their owner.
If you find an item on Barnard property, it may be turned in at the window in the lobby of Barnard Hall. Please be prepared to provide information about where and when the item was found and any information regarding ownership. Items are recorded and effort is made to contact the owner, if identifiable. Found items will be held for at least 30 days. Common items received include phones, calculators, electronics cables, earphones and earbuds, wallets, IDs, and jewelry.
If you believe you left an item in a Barnard facility, submit your information via this form. Individuals are asked to describe item, location last seen, and/or provide identifiable markings on their valuable to retrieve items. Please email lostandfound@barnard.edu with any questions.
