Michelle will highlight important topics such as autonomy, decision making, and advance care directives, and share strategies such as how to start and sustain these conversations and how to take specific steps to codify important choices. She will cover: Why are advance directives important for adults of all ages? How much right do people have to make what others consider to be bad decisions? What is the difference between a living will and a healthcare proxy?  What is hospice and how does it differ from other medical care?   This program is in partnership with the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Center for Well-Being, Barnard’s new centralized hub for all wellness-related initiatives across campus. The Francine LeFrak Center supports the entire College community with a 360-degree perspective of personal well-being: physical, mental, and financial.
