Milbank Professor and Department Chair of Psychology and Neuroscience and Behavior, as the 2025 recipient of the D.O. Hebb Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award. This prestigious award from the APA honors scientists who have made significant empirical contributions to research in behavioral neuroscience, shaping the field through their innovative work. Balsam’s research focuses on how animals use temporal information to solve problems and how time is perceived, encoded, and retrieved across species.
