Isabelle Jouanneau-Fertig
Isabelle Jouanneau-Fertig is a specialist in teaching French as a foreign language. After teaching at the University of Texas in Austin, the Bryn Mawr program in Avignon, France, and Yale University, she joined the French department at Barnard in 1987. There, as language instructor, she has designed, redesigned, chaired, and taught all levels of language courses. In particular, she has strengthened the department’s third- and fourth-year levels of French study by creating several new language and culture courses.
