How does your identity inform your work/interests/passions?

When I graduated college, I had no idea how I wanted to use my liberal arts degree in Psychology. Having grown up in a low-income household, I recognized the connection between completing a college degree and establishing a stable career, as well as the impact it could have on a person’s family and life. So being a part of that journey became important to me. I feel extremely lucky to get to do this work at Barnard.

What was your first job?

My first full-time job was at a non-profit, managing adult education programs, which led to a career in workforce development and career education within college settings. I am passionate about education equity and supporting first-generation college students in their college to career journeys. I completed a master’s degree in higher education at Teachers College of Columbia University to complement my work.

What’s important to you in life outside of work?

When I’m not at Beyond Barnard, you can find me performing in and curating storytelling shows, showing pictures of my dog, Bernie, to strangers on the subway, and seriously considering going for a jog.
