The information below does not apply to officially sponsored Barnard events, including campus tours.

Accompanied Minors

• Minors under age 13 must be accompanied at all times by a parent or legal guardian.
• Minors (17 and under) by a parent or legal guardian → May enter without pre-registration.
• Minors (17 and under) accompanied by someone other than a parent/legal guardian (e.g., relative, caregiver, friend, sibling)→ Must be pre-registered through Workday by a member of the community, and a parent/legal guardian must sign a pre-authorization waiver.

Unaccompanied Minors

• Unaccompanied minors ages 13–17 → Must be pre-registered through Workday by a member of the community, and a parent/legal guardian must sign a pre-authorization waiver.

Please register your guests through Workday with a minimum of 24-48 hours notice. Guests should use the main gate on West 117th Street and Broadway and proceed to the new Welcome Center for entry.

We will continue training our CARES teams so these guidelines are applied consistently and with care. We’re also implementing new guest-management software over the coming months to streamline pre-registration.

Please email operations@barnard.edu with questions, suggestions, or to flag any issues you encounter. We’ll monitor that inbox closely and adjust as needed.

Building hours may be extended to accommodate a class or special event or in reading or exam periods as listed on the Academic Calendar.
