Barnard Summer 2023 Programs in Paris - Info Session
Come learn about Barnard’s two unique theatre-related programs in Paris this summer:
Acting in Paris: an intensive acting class that focuses on the practical study of key contemporary French theatre practitioners that have contributed to the understanding of acting as a physical and ensemble-oriented practice.
Theatre Translation Workshop in Paris: a workshop format course that combines hands-on translation practice (French to English) with discussion of theoretical and dramaturgical issues specific to translating theatre.
The programs will be working on the same French plays, which will allow for meaningful collaboration: the text provided by the Translation students will be tested on stage by the Acting students, and both groups will attend professional performances of the plays in addition to other excursions.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with a final deadline of March 15, 2023. Submit your application by March 6th to be considered for the next round of scholarship funding.
