Movement Lab x Brooklyn College (PIMA) Exchange
The annual Barnard (Movement Lab) and Brooklyn College (PIMA: Performance and Interactive Media Art program) Exchange, led by Erwin Maas and Guy de Lancey, is a workshop in which we will engage with our research theme for the year, Artificial environments / environmental Intelligence, and explore related topics such as: The environment not as a system / Questions of the face and gaze of others / The sensual experiences of weight and being touched, through considerations of performance, sculpture and dance / Meditations on mortality and suffering / Aging bodies / If the land is sick, you are sick / Deepfakes / AI intoxication
We will work in groups towards forming a creative response that could be performative, experiential, immersive, online or a hybrid, to / from a provocation emerging out of these ideas.
