This workshop explores public data, its potential biases, and the role of surveillance in shaping urban environments. Looking at data available for New York City, we will look at what types of data get collected or left out and how that impact punishment and regulation. This workshop is taught by Hannah Pullen-Blasnik, Ph.D. Student of Sociology at Columbia University.  This workshop is planned to take place in person (516 Milstein) and Zoom. A link to join via Zoom will be sent to registrants shortly before the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
