In early February 2020, the Library of Congress (LOC) notified professor of history Dorothy Y. Ko that she had been selected for the appointment of Kluge Chair in Countries and Cultures of the North at the Kluge Center. Ko will assume the three-month appointment in February 2022 in Washington D.C., where she will pursue her research proposal "Ecological History of China, 1400-2020."
During her residency at the Kluge Center, Ko will have the opportunity to "distill wisdom from the Library's rich resources and to interact with policymakers and the public," LOC wrote. She will have access to the Library's full resources, deliver a public presentation on her findings, and offer her expertise to staff and members of Congress.
