On February 12, 2020, professor of history Nara Milanich was named a finalist for the 2020 Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE) Awards by the Association of American Publishers. The PROSE are a prestigious set of awards that acknowledge "publishers who produce books, journals, and digital products of extraordinary merit that make a significant contribution to a field of study each year," according to the organization. Milanich was recognized in the Social Sciences category for her recently published book Paternity: The Elusive Quest for the Father. Published at the Harvard University Press, Paternity has received international attention for its political, social, and cultural examination of paternity testing.
