Audiovisual Support

Barnard AV Services technicians provide specialized audiovisual services, support, equipment and operators for classes, departments, extra-curricular activities and special events, such as conferences, lectures and panel discussions. We have staff available to help you 8:30am-8:30pm, Monday through Friday, but we are a small team managing AV for the entire campus, so we may not be able to respond to all calls immediately. If you need help outside of typical hours, please create a ticket by emailing us at avhelp@barnard.edu. We may be able to schedule a training session or otherwise help you prepare for your event or class. For urgent matters, call us at 212-854-2417. 

AV for Classrooms

Barnard AV Services technicians supports and maintains more than 100 audiovisual enabled classrooms and instructional space throughout campus.

A wide range of portable media equipment is also available for instructional use.

If you would like to ask a question, request an orientation on the AV technology system in your classrooms, or need additional AV resources or technician support for an upcoming class please email avhelp@barnard.edu to generate a ticket. Or visit our Client Portal and click on Get Help. There is an option to Report an AV Issue or Request a Tutorial.

If you need training or just a refresher in a classroom space please schedule one by emailing avhelp@barnard.edu. Please keep an eye out for a ticketed reply from TeamDynamix. 

AV for Events

Barnard AV Services technicians provides a wide range of audiovisual resources to support your event needs, up to and including fully supported large-scale events.

In addition to on-campus events, Barnard AV Services technicians can also train faculty and students on virtual events in the form of video conference meetings or webinars.  Please explore our Zoom Webinar Guide and our Zoom Webinar for Events One Sheet for more information.

Barnard AV Services technicians does not support virtual events in the form of video conference meetings or webinars.

On-campus AV support and resource requests should be made three weeks prior to the event and should be requested through Events Management. When requesting a space on their form, indicate your audiovisual needs by selecting the individual resources or AV package that best suits your event. Kindly ensure that presentation slides are submitted in PowerPoint format, and videos are in MP4, H.264 codec format with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 30fps. Please email or share them with avservices@barnard.edu one week before your event so that we can test and troubleshoot any issues.
