Barnard Architecture + Design Summer Institute Student Exhibition
Please join us on Friday, July 14th for an exhibition of student work as we celebrate the inaugural year of the Barnard Architecture + Design Summer Institute. This three-week program offers young women in high school an opportunity to learn about how design and architecture shape the built environment through project-based learning, field trips, and opportunities to meet designers and others involved in this work.
Led by faculty members Lindsay Harkema and Elsa Mäki CC'17 and supported by Course Assistants Hazel Lu CC’24, Georgia Dillane BC’25, and Sebastian Bango CC’23, along with many other members of the Barnard community, this program was founded by Karen Fairbanks, Claire Tow Professor of Professional Practice and Chair of the Barnard Architecture Department and developed with input from our alumni, current students, and faculty. We thank the IDC Foundation for generously supporting this vision.
