Dear Members of the Barnard Community,
I hope this note finds you well. Since my last update letter to you, our Search Committee co-chairs, Ina Drew P’13 and Ann Sacher ’85, in coordination with the members of the Russell Reynolds team, facilitated a series of listening sessions to provide the full Barnard community with an opportunity to participate in the search process. These eight sessions gave us the chance to meet with staff, faculty, students, alumnae, and parents, and to receive feedback from across the community. I am grateful to Ann and Ina for their efforts in leading these sessions and to the members of the Search Committee for their participation and support.
All the more, I am grateful to all of the members of the Barnard community who joined us for one or more of these discussions to share their thoughts and ideas. As well as to the members of the community who, in addition to or instead of participating in the sessions, took the time to provide their ideas and feedback by way of the anonymous survey.
The members of the Russell Reynolds team took extensive, confidential notes during each session. Those notes, coupled with the anonymous feedback received via the survey, along with other institutional data, have all been used to inform the content of the position profile and prospectus document. The document will be used to engage potential candidates in the search process and support our efforts in developing a broad and exceptional list of candidates, and is available for viewing on the presidential search website at the View the Presidential Leadership Profile link.
Your thoughtful input helped to shape this comprehensive document, and on behalf of the entire Search Committee, I thank you for contributing your time and perspectives to this critical stage of this important work. I hope that you will continue to share your candidate suggestions by email at barnard@russellreynolds.com.
In the coming months, we will provide you with a new set of updates on the progress of the search. Until then, I would like to take this opportunity to send you early wishes for a wonderful start to the holiday season.
Most sincerely,
Cheryl Glicker Milstein ’82, P’14
Chair, Barnard Board of Trustees
