Gilman Scholarship

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by offering awards to U.S. undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints. Gilman Scholars receive up to $5,000 and are also eligible to receive a Critical Need Language Award (up to $3000) if they are studying a "critical need language" while abroad, for a total possible award of $8,000. Recipients must use the award to defray eligible study or intern abroad costs, such as tuition, room and board, books, local transportation, insurance and international airfare.
