Universal Programming for Faculty and Staff
Access the expertise that exists right here at Barnard at a one-hour virtual session. Sessions are open to all, but please note that you will need your supervisor’s permission to attend. Sessions include ample time for questions — bring yours.

Communities of Practice for Faculty
Department Chairs: Over the course of five sessions, beginning in late 2022 and running through spring 2023, this community of practice supports department chairs in building community with one another and practicing strategies for leading academic departments at Barnard. Offered in partnership with the Office of the Provost.
Programming for Staff
Barnard supports multiple communities of practice for staff and faculty to connect across roles, share best practices, and engage in collaborative problem-solving and skill-building. - Staff 2022-2023: This community of practice brings together staff managers from across administrative units at Barnard for monthly gatherings comprised of training and opportunities for community building.
- Staff 2023-2024: This community of practice will bring together managers from across administrative units at Barnard for training and opportunities for community building, beginning in spring 2023. To apply, managers can email leadershipdevelopment@barnard.edu and/or senior staff can nominate participants. Participants must receive permission from the supervisor they directly report to in addition to the senior staff member overseeing their office.
- Chiefs of Staff :: This community of practice is comprised of individuals in the position of Chief of Staff here at Barnard. It meets on an ongoing basis.
