Alexis Riley is a teacher-educator, writer, and Stevie Wonder enthusiast. Originally from South Central Los Angeles, CA, Alexis is currently a doctoral candidate, earning her Ph.D. in Science Education from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. For the past ten years, Alexis has been a secondary Science and History teacher and/or curriculum and instruction specialist in charter schools both in Harlem and Brooklyn. Alexis has also served as a teacher-educator over the last five years working to build the practices and philosophy of first-year science teachers in DOE and charters schools as an adjunct professor.
