Students Engage
Students Engage
About the project
Students Engage is an opportunity for Barnard students to guide campus-wide programming based on their personal interests, hobbies, passions or curiosities while developing or strengthening meaningful relationships with the Barnard Community. Byproducts of this initiative will hopefully inform, entertain, and introduce the campus community to student perspectives.
Selected proposals will receive planning support from departments associated with the selection committee. In addition to that support, selected proposals will have access to funding for refreshments during the program.
We anticipate selecting 3-4 proposals to be completed by Friday, April 26, 2024.

- Dean Tedder - Dean for Academic Planning & Class Advising

Tips and resources
The goal of this initiative is to give Barnard students, whether part of a recognized student organization or as an individual student, an opportunity to guide campus-wide programming on campus based on their personal interests, passions, hobbies, or curiosities. The structured nature of the proposal is intentional and designed to ensure that projects are completed this semester. In addition to the design of the proposal here are some additional tips to help you submit a successful proposal.
Tips for Successful Proposals:
-
Connect with SGA/GBB recognized student groups or campus departments to determine if there are student organizations or campus departments that might have shared interests in your proposed program.
-
Use the Students Engage Checklist (found on page one of the Proposal Submission Form)
-
Be realistic with your scope and scale, projects must be completed by Friday, April 26
-
Utilize campus resources
-
Recruit peers to assist. We encourage proposals to be group efforts, although the proposal will ultimately be submitted by an individual student in MillieLink
