Biography
Originally from Westminster, Colorado, Blythe moved to the East Coast to attend Mount Holyoke College in Western Massachusetts. Having studied a combination of Art History and Anthropology, she is continually drawn to the role that art plays in community building and placemaking. After graduating, Blythe moved to Philadelphia to work in Admissions and Financial Aid at Moore College of Art and Design. Alongside her work in higher education, she has supported educational programming for young artists at Moore and at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She is passionate about accessibility in education, and is excited to support prospective Barnard students throughout the application process.
Fun Facts
Why did you choose to work at Barnard?
As a graduate of a historically women’s college, I knew that the community of Barnard would be a good place to land. I love the supportive environment of staff and students that I get to work with every day.
What is your favorite book?
A book that I consistently return to is Foster by Claire Keegan. A perfect one-sitting read!
What is your favorite thing to do in NYC?
Walking! The bridges and infrastructure here are totally unfamiliar to where I grew up, so I love just walking around.
What is your favorite place on campus?
The Quad on a sunny day! This is also where all of our first-year students live and it has a beautiful courtyard in the middle.
What is a random fun fact about yourself?
I worked for Mount Holyoke’s Botanic Garden while I was a student, and I got to drive a Kubota RTV520 around campus!
