Biography
Ainsley Chrystal (she/her) is so excited to join the admissions team. Born and raised in Ames, Iowa, she attended Smith College, another women's college in Massachusetts, where she majored in history and anthropology. She was a tour guide for Smith and was actively involved in its community, fostering a love for talking about school! Currently, she is a graduate student at Teachers College pursuing a Masters of Art in the History and Education program, where she researches women's history and, specifically, the impact and changes of women's higher education institutions from their inception.
Ainsley uses she/her/hers pronouns.

Why did you choose to work at Barnard?
I strongly believe in the importance of women’s colleges and love any reason to extoll the benefits of a women’s institution!
What is your favorite book?
There are too many to list, but fiction is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, and nonfiction is We Keep the Dead Close by Becky Cooper! .
What is your favorite thing to do in NYC?
I like going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met)! I like to find an area I’ve never been to, spend time there, and enjoy a quiet moment in the American Wing!
What is your favorite place on campus?
Futter Field because it gets so nice and sunny and picturesque!
What is a random fun fact about yourself?
I have never broken a bone!
