Student Advisory Team for Violence Prevention and Support
Being Barnard engages students interested in addressing sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking issues on college campuses and in the community. The Student Violence Prevention Advisory Team provides student-generated ideas and initiatives about how to advance this work.
Established in Spring 2018, the student advisory board is a means for students to actively engage in violence prevention efforts with the Program Coordinator for Prevention Education.
The advisory team offers students the opportunity to become involved on campus, learn about Being Barnard and community partner initiatives. Applications will be accepted year-round on a rolling-admissions basis. Applicants will be updated on the status of their application within two weeks of submission. All students are welcome and encouraged to apply. Questions can be sent to beingbarnard@barnard.edu.
Each month the student advisory team meets with the Program Coordinator for Prevention Education to discuss changes they want to see on the Barnard campus regarding violence prevention.
