The Class of 2021 — and the entire College — are currently counting down the days until Commencement 2021 takes place on April 29. As we lead up to graduation, we are highlighting some of the most memorable moments from the past four years to celebrate our soon-to-be graduates.

President Sian Leah Beilock made her first official message to the Barnard community on September 5, 2017, when she welcomed everyone back to campus for the start of the 2017-18 academic year. “I have the honor of welcoming returning students back to Barnard — and greeting the wonderful Class of 2021 and new transfers, with whom I will always share the bond that comes from beginning this adventure together,” wrote President Beilock. In her message, President Beilock explained that to get to know Barnard, she spent time listening to community members on- and off-campus. She also shared her sense of advocacy, stating her support for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the importance of the College’s newly established Council on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
